We're getting close  :woohoo: It's officially March!

I guess that means I'd better get the final details worked out

I have a feeling we will be a last minute decision.   :E:

As long as that decision is to come  >:D

The suspense is killing me.

Seriously though, I hope you guys can make it

Ian, how much snow is down there???  Need to know if it's going to be worth the trip to Cemetery Hill to visit my Mom.  If there is too much snow, it would be hard to locate.  Though, next week the temperatures are suppose to climb and the snow will be melting.

We got about 6in here in Morgantown overnight. Mom said they've got around 8in down home. I know the MrsBubba measured 10in and still falling earlier today. Its barely spitting here in Morgantown still, but they're getting the roads treated best they can. If I could get back up my driveway, I'd take my car out. But I know that wont happen, so it'll have to stay parked

I did some research for dining options for Friday evening and Sunday morning...

Nine dining choices in Davis - make that eight choices, since the Lodge will be closed.

For Friday night I was leaning towards Hellbender Burritos until I saw this on their web site menu...

One Credit Card per Party
$10 Minimum Credit Card Purchase
No Separate Checks

We could probably work with this, but we are the customer - they should work with us.  :dunno:

Thats crazy!!! As you said it could be worked around but they must not really want big partys or they wouldn't  have this stipulation.

Good Grief.. Thats ridiculous. I couldn't stop thinking about the pizza talk at the beginning of the thread, so I researched a small place in davis called Sirianni's Pizza Cafe. They feature handmade pizzas, salads, pastas, and sandwiches. They accommodate groups as well.

Let me know what you guys think. The food looks good, and I've talked to a few of my friends and heard great things.

As of now, it looks like the weather might not be very cooperative, so prepare for the worst. It looks like spotty showers Saturday that should allow us to do most of what we desire, but the steady rain Friday will make for a soggy time.

Remember to bring shoes and clothes to combat the rain and soggy ground.

Worst case scenario, were stuck inside eating jello all weekend..  >:D BUT, lets hope for the best! (wait, maybe that is the best)

Cant wait to see all of you Friday!

What are everyones travel plans? I'll get out of Morgantown around 1:30, give or take. Im meeting Mom and Ashley at exit 99 on I-79 around 2:30-3:00. It's another 75 miles to Davis from there. I'll probably end up bringing the Cruze with us as well, unless I can find a safe place to park it for the weekend.

I hope that everyone has a good time, I know that I haven't been quite as on top of things as GoldBowTie usually is. Sorry guys  :(

If we happen to sit together and order seperately I guess that means we are not a party...at least til we get back to the cabin!!

Ok Ian Google is giving 2 options 79s and 219 S being main difference which do you think...

You have been doing a great job keeping up with things Ian. We will be leaving around 2 which should get us there 4-5pm.

A cruise to Seneca Rocks sounds good again. Depending on the weather, Joyce and I might hike up to the top which would take about 2-3 hrs. It is a nice hike but it is a very steep climb!

Main difference would be 2 lane roads the whole way down instead of taking 79 through morgantown to exit 99. That way involves some pretty curvy roads as well as some steep hills. It is a pretty nice drive though.

A cruise to Seneca Rocks would be fine with me. We should be there around the same time as you as well.

Would anyone be opposed to doing dinner at 6:30 on Friday evening?

What time does everyone else plan on arriving?

Taney is working out of town this week so our ETA depends on when he gets home. They are supposed  to get him home sometime Thursday, but I still figure it will be around 4 before we get there.

I will be cruising down with OldVMer.
Toots' brother is riding with us.
I expect we will get there around 4, so dinner Friday at 6:30 should be good.

Check-in is at 4, but we can get in earlier if the cabin is not occupied Thursday.

Sirriani's Pizza is OK with me for Friday night.

Cruise to Seneca Rocks is OK too, but I won't be doing the hike.

If that is okay, then I will call them and set up a reservation for friday at 6:30. That will give us time to get settled into the cabin, it is only around a 5min drive to Sirianni's.

Ditto on the hike, I rode a horse to the top once, but even that wore me out  >:D

Does anyone have anything that needs done while were there? I'll have a small selection of tools on hand, just in case.

Alright gang,

Friday dinner reservations at Siriannis are made (luckily they had one reservation for a large group left to be able to be made)

Saturday cruise to Seneca Rocks is very doable. The Discovery center does not reopen until April, so the trip would just consist of driving down, milling around for a bit, and driving back, unless anyone else would like to Join Brian & Joyce on a hike. I won't personally be taking part, but that just means I am lazy  >:D

* Gas up in Davis Friday evening, if need be*

It is only 40min (31 miles) one way, so if we leave after touring Blackwater falls and head down we can be back in the mid afternoon no problem.

I'm not familiar with the area (blind leader), but I am researching some available stops between Davis and Seneca Rocks that would be worthwhile. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to offer them up!

For breakfast sunday, would anyone be opposed to having a later breakfast around 10:30am? The Bright Morning restaurant is the one that is in the closest proximity to the cabins and I spoke with the owner. She said that they're very popular on Sunday Mornings and she would be happy to hold an are for all of us, but she'd prefer it be later for breakfast after their local rush, which occurs from 9-10. That would give us ample time to pack up in the morning, and take our time getting ready.

I just don't want to hold anyone up if they need to get back. She said our group is the equivalent to blocking off half of the dining room.

I just wanted the input from the group before I made any final plans.

The Breakfast Nook has decent reviews, but they are 10 miles down the road near Canaan Valley.

Bright Morning is right in Davis, just down from Siriannis, in case anyone wants to check it out Friday evening.

You're  doing a great job, Ian! Everything  sounds great! I would love to venture up Seneca on a hike, but know Taney won't so we will see what I decided.  As for breakfast Sunday  as of now it looks like Taney will be headed back to TN on Sunday  so we will have to make a early exit that morning and be skipping the group breakfast so he can get on the road to TN.
